Football Recap: Arvada West Skates Past Overland with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arvada West). They really took it to the Overland Trailblazers for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-0 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Trailblazers are ranked 117th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Logan Duhachek, who threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (154.9). Another player making a difference was Keegen Balistreri, who picked up 83 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Arvada West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overland only rushed for 98 rushing yards.

Arvada West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ayden Garcia, Jaxon Pyatt, and Jereimyah Berry picked up one apiece.

Arvada West's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Overland, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Denver South at 4:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Overland, they will face off against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
