Basketball Recap: Dayritzis Chinea Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat North Henderson

Smoky Mountain won the last time they faced North Henderson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Smoky Mountain Mustangs blew past the North Henderson Knights 54-29.

Smoky Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dayritzis Chinea, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and four steals. Chinea has become a key player for Smoky Mountain: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 4-14 otherwise. Aaliyah Voss was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Smoky Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Smoky Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for North Henderson, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.

Smoky Mountain has already played their next game, a 37-32 win against Tuscola on the 7th. As for North Henderson, they will welcome Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pisgah will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something North Henderson surely won't give up without a fight.
