Basketball Game Preview: San Juan Broncos vs. St. Joseph Jayhawks

St. Joseph will be up against a hot San Juan team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. San Juan came out on top against Grand County by a score of 67-56 on Friday.

San Juan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tripp Palmer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. San Juan is 7-3 when Palmer posts ten or more rebounds, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jake Ivins, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 boards, and nine assists.

San Juan was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grand County only racked up nine assists.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 62-57 to Maeser Prep Academy. The Jayhawks haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for San Juan, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
