Basketball Recap: Carson Mosteller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Skyridge over American Fork

Skyridge fought the good fight in their overtime match against American Fork on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the American Fork Cavemen by a score of 56-53. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavemen earlier this season, when they won 60-56.

Skyridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carson Mosteller, who posted 16 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gentry, who earned 16 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jax Clark, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashton Hucks, who had 11 points and five boards.

Skyridge dropped their record down to 12-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for American Fork, their record now sits at 7-16.

Looking ahead, Skyridge will head out on the road to take on Lone Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for American Fork, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-50 win against Fremont on the 19th.
