Basketball Recap: Aynor Blue Jackets vs. Latta Vikings
It was a good run, but Aynor unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Latta Vikings by a score of 54-52. The Blue Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Blue Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamarion Mitchell, who went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Kamp, who went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points.
Even though they lost, Aynor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Latta can attribute much of their success to JP Bley, who had 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Williams, who had five points in addition to two steals.
Aynor dropped their record down to 3-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Latta, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
