Soccer Recap: Stony Point Find Success

Stony Point gave up the first goal on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cedar Ridge Raiders. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Raiders are ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ethan Zugsay and Maddox Hochevar scored both of Stony Point's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The victory got Stony Point back to even at 4-4-1. As for Cedar Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-6-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Stony Point will challenge Manor at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Ridge, they will square off against Vandegrift at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
