Basketball Recap: Kaylee Raley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Southern Maryland Christian Academy

King's Christian Academy won the last time they faced Southern Maryland Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The King's Christian Academy Eagles came out on top against the Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs by a score of 39-28.

King's Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Raley out in front who went 6 for 13 on her way to 18 points. That's the most points Raley has posted since back in January of 2024. Destini Shorts was another key player, putting up three points in addition to 13 boards and four blocks.

King's Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

King's Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

When King's Christian Academy and Southern Maryland Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. King's Christian Academy will try to stop Friendship Collegiate Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Southern Maryland Christian Academy will face off against Takoma Academy and their eight-game winning streak at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
