Volleyball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville was the 3-0 winner over Irene/Wakonda when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tornadoes fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Centerville took Irene/Wakonda into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 21-25, 17-25, 16-14.

Centerville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Irene/Wakonda, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Centerville is set to square off against their familiar foe Scotland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Irene/Wakonda will challenge rival Gayville-Volin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
