Volleyball Recap: West Boca Raton Beats Fort Lauderdale for Their Third Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Boca Raton walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Fort Lauderdale Flying L on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulls sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

West Boca Raton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ozum Oztas out in front who had ten digs and four aces. What's more, Oztas posted two assists, the most she's had since back in September. Sofia Maldonado was another key player, getting 19 assists and four digs.

They weren't the only good servers: West Boca Raton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matchups.

West Boca Raton's record is now 8-12. As for Fort Lauderdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

Coming up, West Boca Raton will face off against Deerfield Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Lauderdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
