Basketball Recap: Kokomo Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Kokomo won the last time they faced Richmond, and Korbyn Hammel did his part to make sure it happened again. The Kokomo Wildkats secured a 96-90 W over the Richmond Red Devils on Friday thanks to Hammel, who went 9-for-13 en route to 28 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2024.

D.J. Nash was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Kokomo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Richmond, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Kokomo will square off against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Richmond, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Warren Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Richmond surely won't give up without a fight.
