After starting their season with three straight games on the road, Vallivue is finally coming home. They will be defending their home-fieldthey go up against the Emmett Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Vallivue's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-0 victory over Caldwell on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Falcons just coasted through the last quarter.

Onix Carson went supernova for Vallivue, rushing for 191 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Oswald, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Vallivue wouldn't let Caldwell keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Jayden Cagle, Eian Hendrickson, and Hendrickson picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Emmett waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Hawks with a 48-44 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Emmett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sammy Howe, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown. Howe really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Ryder Scheibe was another key player, throwing for 258 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Emmett was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Vallivue now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Emmett, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Friday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Vallivue has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Emmett struggles in that department as they've been averaging 272.6. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Vallivue ended up a good deal behind Emmett when the teams last played back in October of 2023, losing 42-24. Thankfully for Vallivue, Quentin Smith (who rushed for 281 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
