Recap: Armstrong River Hawks vs. Freeport Yellowjackets
The Armstrong River Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Freeport as Armstrong made off with a 66-44 win. Winning may never get old, but Armstrong sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Armstrong's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Valasek, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Olsen, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Armstrong's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Freeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armstrong is on the road again on Thursday and play against Indiana at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for Freeport, they will square off against Plum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Plum is ranked 432nd, while Freeport is ranked 425th).
