Baseball Recap: Little Axe Takes a Loss

If Little Axe was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Star-Spencer on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell just short of the Del City Eagles by a score of 13-11 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Indians still had to take the loss.

Lane Foreman stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one double. Little Axe is 2-1 when Foreman posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Kelin Sanders also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Little Axe's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Del City, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-23.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Axe will head out to face off against Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Del City, they will head out on the road to take on Guymon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
