Basketball Recap: Fairbury Jeffs vs. Tri County Trojans
After flying high against Diller-Odell last Tuesday, Fairbury came back down to earth. The Fairbury Jeffs took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri County Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Jeffs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.
It was another big night for Drew Siems, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds for Tri County. Siems' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Garrett Smidt was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Fairbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Tri County, their record is now 4-7.
Fairbury will face off against Wilber-Clatonia at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Tri County, they will take on Freeman on Saturday. Freeman will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Tri County surely won't give up without a fight.
