Basketball Game Preview: Iredell Dragons vs. Rising Star Wildcats

The Iredell Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Rising Star Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Iredell came up short against Sidney and fell 51-42.

Despite the defeat, Iredell got top-tier performance from Gavin Vara, who shot 43% from the field en route to 22 points along with five boards and three steals. Aaron Aguilar-Diaz was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Rising Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 47-37 to Roby.

Iredell's record now sits at 1-1. As for Rising Star, their record is now 0-2.

Iredell strolled past Rising Star in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 63-47. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
