Soccer Recap: Waelder Comes Up Short

After flying high against Luling last Tuesday, Waelder came back down to earth. The Waelder Wildcats lost 6-2 to the Navarro Vikings on Friday. The game was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

SADIEL FIGUEROA FRANCO wasn't going to let Navarro walk away unscathed as he scored both of Waelder's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

The loss snapped Waelder's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record. As for Navarro, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waelder will challenge Yoakum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Navarro, they will square off against Weiss at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
