Softball Recap: Sneads Pirates vs. Cottondale Hornets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sneads can now relate to. They lost 8-1 to the Cottondale Hornets on Thursday. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 12-5 to the Hornets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Sneads saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Naryah Dudley, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Sneads has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Cottondale, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4.
Sneads does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cottondale, they are taking a road trip to challenge Liberty County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 2.9, the Bulldogs 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
