Basketball Recap: Middleton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Madison La Follette last Friday, Middleton came back down to earth. The Middleton Cardinals were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 67-66 to the Verona Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).

Middleton's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Verona, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middleton has already played their next match (against Arrowhead), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Verona has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Homestead.
