Recap: Clearwater Valley Rams vs. Lapwai Wildcats

The Clearwater Valley Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lapwai, falling 99-47. While losing is never fun, Clearwater Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Lapwai is ranked 13th).

Lapwai was led to victory by Ahlius Yearout and Kase Wynott. Yearout scored 25 points along with seven assists, while Wynott dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. Wynott is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Bohnee, who scored five points along with five assists and two steals.

Clearwater Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Lapwai, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearwater Valley will square off against Troy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lapwai, they will head out on the road to square off against Logos at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
