Football Game Preview: Nolan Catholic Vikings vs. Parish Episcopal Panthers

Nolan Catholic hasn't had much luck against Parish Episcopal recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Nolan Catholic has given up an average of 35.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nolan Catholic is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Prestonwood Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings were beaten by the Lions 56-7. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Meanwhile, Parish Episcopal came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eagles 43-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Eagles are ranked 388th).

Nolan Catholic better focus on containing Marcus Hanish and Jaylen Pile as the pair were huge in Parish Episcopal's win. Hanish rushed for 192 yards while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, while Pile picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 192 rushing yards gave Hanish a new career-high.

Nolan Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Parish Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Nolan Catholic took a serious blow against Parish Episcopal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 62-13. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 49-7.
