Basketball Recap: Wethersfield Drops Highest Score of Season Against Middletown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wethersfield). They walked away with a 52-44 victory over the Middletown Blue Dragons on Friday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 41-36 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Middletown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rielle Jackson posted 14 points. What's more, Jackson also racked up four rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Sophia Abanador was another key player, putting up ten points.

Wethersfield's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Middletown, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wethersfield will host Platt at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Middletown, they will head out to challenge Maloney at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
