Basketball Recap: Florence's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Seton Catholic wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Florence, they should've done a better job of containing Logan Stenson. The Florence Gophers secured a 74-69 W over the Seton Catholic Sentinels on Wednesday thanks in part to Stenson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Adrian Taufaasau, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Seton Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Ryan Morris and Kj Fauske. Morris almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, while Fauske posted 21 points. Morris continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Damien Howard was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Florence and bumps their season record up to 20-2. As for Seton Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

Florence will take on Apache Junction at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florence is facing Apache Junction at the right time seeing as Apache Junction is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Seton Catholic, they will face off against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Valley Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
