Basketball Recap: Mary Walker Comes Up Short

Mary Walker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats, falling 68-18. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.

Wilbur-Creston-Keller found their leader in sophomore Brystal Neilsen, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Neilsen has scored at least a third of Wilbur-Creston-Keller's points. Another player making a difference was Samiah Smoger, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and five assists.

Mary Walker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
