Basketball Game Preview: Whitney Wildcats vs. McGregor Bulldogs

The Whitney Wildcats will challenge the McGregor Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitney is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Two weeks ago, Whitney ended up a good deal behind Live Oak Classical and lost 46-28. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1251st, while the Falcons are ranked 518th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McGregor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They snuck past Central Texas Christian with a 26-21 victory on Tuesday.

McGregor pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for Whitney, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Whitney against McGregor in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 57-23 victory. Will Whitney repeat their success, or does McGregor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
