Softball Recap: Shadle Park Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Shadle Park's victory against Lewis & Clark wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Shadle Park Highlanders narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lewis & Clark Tigers 18-16. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2019.

Rachel Gibbs looked comfortable as she tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Smith, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madi Keon, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Shadle Park's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Coming up, Shadle Park will take on University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewis & Clark, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lewis & Clark Tigers challenge Mt. Spokane Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
