Softball Game Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. San Diego Vaqueros

The Taft Greyhounds will square off against the San Diego Vaqueros at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Taft is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Taft's last matchup with Odem could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Greyhounds came up short against the Owls, falling 15-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Taft saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josette Aparicio, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Aaliyah Alvarado also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, while San Diego put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Banquete. The Vaqueros blew past the Bulldogs 13-0. Considering the Vaqueros have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

San Diego's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
