Basketball Game Preview: Aztec Tigers vs. Thoreau Hawks + How To Watch

The Aztec Tigers will square off against the Thoreau Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Aztec is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They blew past Cuba 58-28. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.

Jazzlyn Gomez went supernova, putting up 20 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Khloe Schmidt was another key player, scoring ten points and eight steals.

Aztec was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cuba only posted four.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Thoreau challenged Northwest on Friday. The Hawks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 66-25.

Aztec strolled past Thoreau when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 48-30. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
