The matchup between Okolona and Noxubee County on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. In a tight match that could have gone either way, the Okolona Chieftains made off with a 53-52 win over the Noxubee County Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Chieftains sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Okolona is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Noxubee County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season.

Okolona won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calhoun City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Okolona likes a good challenge. As for Noxubee County, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Southeast Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
