Basketball Recap: El Dorado Skates Past Parkland with Ease

El Dorado won against Horizon last Friday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The El Dorado Aztecs breezed by the Parkland Matadors to the tune of 50-23. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-38 back in January.

El Dorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Hicks out in front who posted eight points and 16 rebounds. Hicks has been hot, having posted 12 or more boards the last five times she's played. Aralyn Nahle was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 12 points.

El Dorado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Parkland's loss came despite strong showings from Brissa Rubal and Mia Arambula. Rubal scored nine points and three blocks, while Arambula put up five points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Rubal a new career-high in blocks.

The victory made it two in a row for El Dorado and bumps their season record up to 13-14. As for Parkland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.

El Dorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-19 loss against Hanks on the 31st. As for Parkland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-16 defeat against Americas on the 31st.
