Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chicago Mt. Carmel). Everything went their way against the Oak Lawn Spartans on Sunday as the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan made off with an 84-60 win. The Caravan have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Cameron Thomas, who shot 5-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (six). Grant Best was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Chicago Mt. Carmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Oak Lawn, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

Chicago Mt. Carmel and Oak Lawn should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Chicago Mt. Carmel will square off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 189 places (18 vs. 207). Chicago Mt. Carmel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.5 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Oak Lawn (ranked 128th) will meet Shepard (ranked 412th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
