Soccer Game Preview: Robinson vs. South County

Robinson is 1-9 against South County since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rams will face off against the Stallions at 7:15 p.m. Robinson's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Robinson's win against Alexandria City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams' defense stepped up to hand the Titans a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Robinson in their matchups with Alexandria City: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South County). They blew past West Potomac 4-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded South County with their most commanding win of the season.

The win made it two in a row for South County and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Robinson, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

Robinson couldn't quite get it done against South County when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
