Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pelion). Everything went their way against the American Leadership Academy Patriots on Thursday as Pelion made off with an 18-4 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Savanna Padgett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Padgett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Pelion got a massive performance out of Alexia Hansen, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, Hansen posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Rilynn Earle, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
With the victory, Pelion broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for American Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.
