Basketball Recap: Father Lopez Comes Up Short

Father Lopez and The First Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Father Lopez had to settle for second. They took a blow against The First Academy Royals, falling 83-9. The game marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Father Lopez lost, don't look at Addy Fulton. Despite the final result, she posted five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sofi Miller, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. The contest was Miller's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna (Bri) Nolan, who went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points and five steals.

Father Lopez's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for The First Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Father Lopez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The First Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-16 victory against Master's Academy on the 6th.
