Baseball Recap: Martin County West's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martin County West). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. Mary's Knights a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Mavericks as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Martin County West's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for St. Mary's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Martin County West and St. Mary's will both be playing Sleepy Eye the next time they take the field. The Mavericks will host the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Knights will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
