Waverly won the last time they faced Beatrice and things went their way on Thursday too. The Waverly Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Beatrice Orangemen 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted against the Orangemen since February 15, 2018.

Waverly's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Schieffer led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Schieffer a new career-high in assists (four). Brockston Teply was another key player, going 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Waverly and bumps their season record up to 4-17. As for Beatrice, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.
