Baseball Recap: King's Academy Comes Up Short

King's Academy lost against Santa Clara back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The King's Academy Knights fell just short of the Santa Clara Bruins by a score of 8-6. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Nate Plata was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

Having lost for the first time this season, King's Academy fell to 2-1. As for Santa Clara, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, King's Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Los Gatos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games King's Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Santa Clara, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lynbrook at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
