Mainland and Taylor are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Mainland came up short against Deltona and fell 3-1. While the Buccaneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-17 in the first set.

Mainland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-19.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Taylor and Umatilla, and Umatilla kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-14.

Mainland came out on top in a nail-biter against Taylor when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
