Basketball Recap: King Cove Skates Past Manokotak with Ease

King Cove had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Manokotak Lynx, posting a 51-24 win. The T-Jacks and Rookies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

King Cove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tianna Lewis out in front who posted nine points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points Lewis has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rivera Wilson, who had seven points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

King Cove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

King Cove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

King Cove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-35 defeat against Newhalen on the 23rd. Manokotak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
