Basketball Game Preview: Maple Hill Wildcats vs. Watervliet Cannoneers

The Maple Hill Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Watervliet Cannoneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Maple Hill is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Coxsackie-Athens: they outscored them in every quarter. Maple Hill was the clear victor by a 54-33 margin over Coxsackie-Athens on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wildcats have posted since February 6th.

Meanwhile, Watervliet got the win against Chatham on Tuesday by a conclusive 60-34. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cannoneers had established a 21 point advantage.

Maple Hill pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Watervliet, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Maple Hill barely slipped by Watervliet in their previous matchup back in February, winning 40-39. Does Maple Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Watervliet turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
