Softball Game Preview: Kennett Eagles vs. Coe-Brown Academy Bears

Kennett is 1-8 against Coe-Brown Academy since June of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will challenge the Bears at 4:00 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Kennett's offense. They fell 4-0 to Sanborn Regional on Monday.

Meanwhile, Coe-Brown Academy faced Oyster River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bears won by a run and slipped past the Bobcats 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since May 6, 2024.

Coe-Brown Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Kennett, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Kennett might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Coe-Brown Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
