Softball Recap: Monroeville Beats St. Paul for Their Fifth Straight Win

While Monroeville's win against St. Paul wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Flyers on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Monroeville let Rachel Fries and Taryn Tyler run wild. Fries went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Tyler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Fries has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Madison Reiber, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Monroeville's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for St. Paul, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Monroeville has already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Western Reserve on the 9th. As for St. Paul, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 17-5 victory against Mansfield Christian on the 8th.
