Basketball Game Preview: North Platte Bulldogs vs. Chadron Cardinals

The North Platte Bulldogs will square off against the Chadron Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

North Platte is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against York on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Platte lost 56-30 to York. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Dukes recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, North Platte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaycee Burk posted seven points in addition to five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Burk has posted since back in December of 2024. Jaicee Fox also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Chadron made off with a 45-44 win over Gordon-Rushville.

Chadron has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for North Platte, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

North Platte came up short against Chadron when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 62-54. Can North Platte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
