Volleyball Recap: Slidell's Winning Streak Snapped at Ten Games

It was a good run, but Slidell unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the St. Scholastica Doves by a score of 2-1. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Doves earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Slidell started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Ava Barduca paced Slidell's offense, picking up 15 kills. Barduca got some help from Ava Labat and her 34 assists. Finally, Barduca was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Slidell's loss dropped their record down to 25-6. As for St. Scholastica, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Slidell will venture away from home to take on Mandeville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Scholastica, they will host Pearl River at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
