Volleyball Recap: Wilmington Wildcats vs. Wakefield Memorial Warriors
Wilmington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wakefield Memorial Warriors, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-15, 25-15.
Wakefield Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cara Carangelo, who had five digs and five aces. Carangelo is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Wakefield Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
As of now, neither Wilmington nor Wakefield Memorial have any future games scheduled.
