Baseball Recap: Normal University Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Normal University walked away with it. They never let the Champaign Central Maroons get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The result came thanks to Issac Schroeder's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Normal University saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Roop, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Normal University's victory bumped their record up to 28-5. As for Champaign Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 32-7 record.

As of now, neither Normal University nor the Maroons have any future games scheduled.
