Softball Recap: Concord Academy Takes a Loss

Concord Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lee Park Prep Knights, falling 14-3. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Concord Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another was Milee Amburn, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Having lost for the first time this season, Concord Academy fell to 2-1. As for Lee Park Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord Academy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Wesleyan Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lee Park Prep, they will face off against Union Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lee Park Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Union Academy likes a good challenge.
