Basketball Recap: Granville Central Comes Up Short

Granville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 79-29 loss at the hands of the South Granville Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 585th, while the Vikings are ranked 140th).

Granville Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for South Granville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Granville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Granville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carrboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Granville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
