Softball Game Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. East Forsyth Eagles

The West Forsyth Titans will challenge the East Forsyth Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Forsyth will be up against a hot West Forsyth squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Titans' pitchers stepped up to hand R.J. Reynolds a 15-0 shutout on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Forsyth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Glenn with a sharp 8-0 win on Monday.

Irelynn Price made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Hannah Niten was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

East Forsyth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Forsyth pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for East Forsyth, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

West Forsyth skirted past East Forsyth 4-2 when the teams last played on Thursday. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
