Baseball Recap: Greater New Bedford RVT Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Greater New Bedford RVT had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 14-7 to the Barnstable Red Hawks on Tuesday.

Boston Bettencourt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Logan Rego, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater New Bedford RVT will welcome Bishop Stang at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barnstable, they will square off against Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
