            Softball Recap: Edgerton Crimson Tide vs. Clinton Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Edgerton extended their losing streak  to 15  on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-18 in the process. They came up short against  the Clinton Cougars, falling  11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  17-0  back in April.
As for Clinton, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-9. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Clinton's part,  Ashley Theisen and  Andie Bell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Theisen   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Bell   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in 17 consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Theisen  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Bell  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Theisen has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Keylee VanderPahl was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Kali Morrison also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
 Edgerton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  7-5  victory against Cambridge on the 19th. As for Clinton, they have also already played their next game,  a  12-1  win against Palmyra-Eagle on the 23rd.
